Where are we?

Hi everyone,
Big announcements on big adventures in Europe in our last episode. Where are we at the moment? Back in The Netherlands and here to stay for a few years at least ; )

We returned to Holland in February 2010, bought a campervan and left for Spain to work on organic farms. Check out the pics for a little taste of that (you can find it under 'fotoalbum' in right column...). It was good fun and we've met a lot of wonderful people. Meeting the required amount of working hours at the farms turned out a little tricky at most places, so in the end we only worked at one farm for a whole month and a week or so at others. Which meant we did longer periods of travelling in the van than expected which wasn't always that relaxing with a 1,5 year old. But we saw beautiful things and it was just great to be able to spend all that time together just the three of us. The jungle bus is for sale if anyone is interested...
We've been back in The Netherlands since July and after harrassing the parents again for weeks, we've finally found a place to ourselves. Temporarily that is, in Delft, but it's wonderful just to stay put for a few months. What happens after October house wise is still a mystery but we're working on it.

Richard is starting work in The Hague on 1 September and Bart is going to daycare for 3 days as of Sept 1st too. I may start on a job next week, fingers crossed. It'll be a temp thing as well as we've got a much anticipated new addition to the family on it's way, due end of January! Very fertile grounds in Spain.

What have we been doing since July? Mostly looking for jobs and house hunting. No, but really? Riding around on our bikes with Bart in front (favourite waste of time!), going to petting zoos and drinking coffees at newly discovered coffee places (coffee is getting better in NL) and hanging out in Delft library which is IT! We've also had our first few nights without Bart and spent those in Amsterdam together. LOVELY! and luckily a success from grandparents' perspective is well.

YES, sweat and tears...we've done it again, our half yearly update. Tadaaaa, as Bart would say. He's doing grant. Repeating every single word we say (only the good ones) and loves his farm animal books (we're no longer that big of fans) and has started walking at 19 months (why hurry dude?).

So far, so good. All we long for now is a place of our own and a veggie patch and some chooks and a firebath and a verandah! All good things to those who wait.

Lots of love from us. Very much missing our kiwi friends and NZ. Never far from our minds.Still looking forward to catching up with everyone in Holland.
